  1. Looking forward to the 2025 sports calendar for Lamar.
  2. Ladies win by seventeen points 60-43. End their non-conference schedule and 2024 portion or the season 6-4.
  3. Lamar outscores Northern Colorado 17-5 in the third quarter to take a 36-25 lead on good defense holding NC scoreless through about the first seven minutes.
  4. Embarrassing, Cardinals couldn't ever seem to get anything going. Final score 101-57 for Tech.
  5. Lady Cards appeared surprised by NC's height and full court press to begin the game falling behind 9-0 before scoring and slowly coming back to a one point deficit at the end of the first quarter 11-10 and then played even in the second quarter to still trail by one, 20-19 at the half.
  6. Disgusting first half for Lamar. Down twenty-seven points at the half, 49-22. Shooting 29% compared to 48% for Tech, out rebounded by seven, twice the number of turnovers as Tech, did not shoot a free throw.
  7. Lamar continued to slide until getting behind by nineteen with 9:05 remaining in the half. Turnovers and poor shooting are hurting the Cards. Tech has two bigs out today.
  8. Not a good start for the Cards. Seven minutes in with the Cards down thirteen points, 20-7.
  9. I don't have a problem with an extension but I think there are other ways to support and show appreciation for what a coach does. Give me a Tommy Lasorda who worked on one-year contracts with the Dodgers for well over a decade. MLB is definitely not loyal to managers in general.

Hate to hear that about Knight but that answers why we haven't seen him the last few games. Is there a chance Gambrel will make it back this year or is he using it as a redshirt? Also, it would be nice if the program gave these updates.
  11. With a five-game winning streak, the Cards will travel to Lubbock Saturday for a noon contest with the Red Raiders. Their top four scorers are all transfers. Size wise it looks like the Cards match up reasonably well. It should be a very tough game for Lamar, but a win looks possible. It will take a supreme effort from every player.
  12. Ladies will close out their non-conference schedule Saturday the 21st against Northern Colorado at home with a 1 PM start time.
  13. Lamar hangs on to win by four points 66-62.
  14. Southern Miss went on a run with about seven minutes left in the half to take a five point lead but then Lamar returned the favor closing out the half on a run to retake the lead by five at the half. Lamar 36 - SM 31.
  15. Through the first eight minutes of play Lamar is up 16-11. Lamar has more turnovers than you would like to see, but they have also forced five fouls on Southern Miss.
  16. A loss is never really good, but I would say the ladies played a good game. Davis may struggle just a little when the opposing team's post player is taller than she is, but how often will that happen in conference? Weems had a good game scoring wise.
  17. Ladies played tough the first quarter but trail 17-13. Davis picked up a foul and went out about half way through the quarter which really seemed to hurt. Tech is taller at every position than Lamar and are just about if not as quick as Lamar. This will be a great game if Lamar can stay close.
  18. Cards will go after their fifth straight win Tuesday at Southern Miss with a 7 PM tip off.
  19. Lady Cards play a morning start in Lubbock versus Texas Tech. 11:30 AM Tuesday start.
  20. The SLC needs to figure out what it takes to get out of the bottom of the rankings. Five schools below 250 really hurts as you get into conference games. Hard to improve and easy to loose ground in the rankings for the rest of the year.
  21. Women win another game with ease, even with Davis only scoring two points and grabbing six rebounds. Lot of turnovers in this game so guards did a lot of the scoring on fast breaks.
  22. Apparently SDS learned more from the early season game than UIW did.
  23. Cardinals get another big road game win at Lafayette 74-45. Cardinals dominated the paint with a 15-rebound edge, eight blocked shots and a twenty-two point in the paint edge. Lamar only committed nine turnovers for the game. In fact the only place Lamar didn't perform well was at the free throw line where the Cards only shot 7-15. Lamar's next game is at Southern Mississippi next Tuesday.
  24. 9:44 left in the game and Lamar has extended their lead to twenty-five points 56-31.
  25. Solid first half for Lamar ending with a 33-22 lead. Cardinals force seven turnovers while committing five. Defense holds Cajuns to 26% field goal shooting and shooting 47%.
