  1. SFA extends the lead to 26-7 with 8:36 left in the game. Lamar has had no offense in the second half. Need three touchdowns to come back. Will require luck and big plays, something Lamar doesn't typically do.
  2. SFA takes the opening possession of the second half to a field goal for a score to push the lead to 16-7. Lamar goes three and out with Coleman taking a big hit. SFA gets a big return on the Lamar punt to the Lamar end of the field and turn the possession into a touchdown run for a 23-7 lead. McCown comes in at qb for the next possession and have another three and out. Lamar is going to need to really step up to get back in this game.
  3. Here in the SFA game although behind at the half, if Lamar can come out strong in the second half, then the game is with in Lamar's grasp. Lamar set up SFA's touchdown on a Coleman intercepted pass on the Lamar side of the field and five penalties for 34-yards stopped at least two Lamar drives.
  4. UIW missed a potential game tying field goal with 11 seconds left to give SLU the win.
  5. SLU up 3-0 over UIW at the half.
  6. It looks like UIW played SFA about even other than two turnovers that SFA capitalized on.
  7. Lamar just needs to win out. A 10-2 Lamar with wins over three FCS ranked teams should deserve a home game if not a bye.
  8. I think the rankings give more credit to offense than defense. SFA has put up over one hundred more points than Lamar. Comparing Lamar to SFA for example, opening week SFA stays closer to Houston than Lamar does to North Texas. Week two Lamar defeats FCS #5 South Dakota, SFA falls to ACU. SFA currently on an eight-game win streak. Lamar has a seven game win streak between opening week and a week ten loss to UIW. Compare Lamar loss to UIW with SFA loss to UCA, UIW defeated UCA how does that work with the SFA loss to UCA. Comes down to just winning this week.
  9. While I agree, the people putting a lot of this together think way too highly of those two conferences, the rest of us haven't won enough games against them to change the view. Especially the farther down the conference standings you go. This year could be changing that.
  10. In the ladies game Hill took a hard fall towards the end of the first quarter and never returned. That put Lamar at a disadvantage in the post area that K-State was able to exploit. Lamar's freshman Foreman scored 19 to lead the Cards in scoring.
  11. Men fall 78-65 at TCU. Inexperience and lack of production from the inside players allowed TCU to put a lot of defensive pressure on the Lamar guards. Rob Lee led the Cards with 26 points but most of those were in the first half. Barrs was the only other Cardinal in double figures with 14 points. A combination of rebounds and free throws was the biggest difference in the game in my opinion.
  12. Lamar offense goes stagnant allowing TCU to move out to a 64-58 lead and the ball with 6:32 left in the game. Lamar's big men are in foul trouble with Ezewiro out with five fouls and East on the bench with four.
  13. 11:53 left to play in men's game and Lamar is leading 55-52.
  14. Ladies fall by 28, K-State 89 - Lamar 61.
  15. K-State out scores Lamar by four in the third quarter to extend their lead to twenty points. 66-46
  16. TCU comes back over the last three minutes to take a one-point lead into the half. 39-38 TCU
  17. Game tied 31-31 at the under four-minute time out. Holifield on the bench with two fouls.
  18. At the under eight minute timeout Lamar has a four-point lead over TCU 24-20. Cards are playing solid defense.
  19. The size and talent difference between mid-major and power four women's teams takes over in the second quarter as K-State moves out to a 48-32 half time lead.
  20. Cards force a couple of turnovers and TCU misses a shot to take the lead 16-15 with 12:25 left in the first half.
  21. TCU jumps out to the early lead on hot shooting, making five of their first six shots including 3-3 from three-point range. 13-6 at the first media time out.
  22. Ladies have a solid opening quarter, playing to a 20-20 tie. Ladies had eight total fouls and three turnovers in the quarter.
  23. Both the men and women play Big 12 opponents this evening. Women play at Kansas St with a 6:30 tip off and the men are at TCU for a 7:00 PM contest. Both are underdogs going into the contests. KSU was a top twenty women's squad last year so this should be a big challenge for the ladies. TCU was down last year and are 1-1 so far with a loss to fellow SLC member New Orleans.
  24. Just win Lamar it makes everything better in the end. There are still some head-to-head games in other conference that can have a big impact.
  25. The IVY League is participating and gets an Auto bid, but the MEAC does not. There are eleven conferences with auto bids and two of those do not have a top 25 ranked school. That would indicate that number 23, 24 and 25 would get left out of the playoffs, but with multiple rankings to evaluate it is still a guess if your school isn't in the top 20 which puts the SLC as a potential snub for a third bid.
