I know there is still one game left this season but just took a look at the 2 deep to see how we are going to look next season. Offensively I think next year has the potential (hate that word) to be a special one. only 5 seniors on the current 2-deep and 2 of those are back-ups. Starters that will be gone are WR Jordan Edwards, RT Stephen Babin, and the one that will be felt the most C Kyle Gillam. According to an email the LU Athletic department sent to season ticket holders, the City of Beaumont has started construction on the northbound exit from Lavaca onto MLK (street between LU and LIT). The construction will last for several months. The attached image shows the detour routes. It doesn't look like the construction will cause too many problems; just letting people know. At 4-6 the Cardinals are looking dead in the eye of another losing season. Thank God for the candy Naia or Division 3 schools or the only victory would be Nichols High. SFA may be reachable if we can maybe call the right play, run the right play, not throw it or give it to the other team. I won't put this on these kids. This team had a chance a couple years ago when they had their biggest recruiting class to date.
