I was wondering if anyone has gone to a spring football practice. I got an email blast saying to email somebody named Diaz if I wanted to attend practice. I emailed him and in typical LU fashion, I got no response. I would be interested to hear thoughts on practice if anyone has gone by.

The ORU C/F has grown to 6-8, 250 lbs. Clover averaged 2.1 PPG and 2.2 RPG as a sophomore. In HS, he was a 3 star recruit. Ranked as the 13th best prospect in the state of Texas. He was on a PA Memorial team that won the 5A state championship. (teammate of Kenneth Lofton) Prior to committing to ORU he was recruited by former Lamar head coach Tic Price. Nate entered the transfer portal today, I am interested to see if coach Brooks and staff will make contact with Clover. At 6-8, 250 lbs, there are not many forward/center who can physically match up with Nate Clover in the SLC.

The Friday night game has been a pitchers dual through five innings. Still 0-0, Lamar has three more hits than UCR and have left more men on base, but haven't scored yet.

Through the first two innings the first game is a pitchers dual. Penn got one hit but Caple got two strikeouts so there was no damage.

The Cardinals are RED HOT! Who all is heading to Sugar Land to see them play? Their RPI is sitting in the 20s. They knocked off a top-5 team in their house then returned home to play another undefeated, top team in the RPI. There's no one who will be there that is seen as better than us right now. Sure, it's a small sample size, but we can keep building on it! I'm busy with work stuff or I'd be there (I'll make up for it by being at the Rice game in April)

Last home games for the year see the ladies tipping off at 3 PM followed by men at six. Ladies still have a chance for a one or two seed in the conference tournament, but will need help as both Southeastern and Corpus will need to loose one of their last two games. Corpus is currently up by about thirty today and will play Commerce this coming week. Southeastern is in a battle with McNeese today. Lamar men need to win for themselves. Most likely they are playing in preparation for next year although Lamar can still make the conference tourney.

Lamar men and women take on Southeastern Louisiana this evening. The women are looking to continue their winning streak and perhaps move up a place in the conference standings with a win over the conference leaders. Lamar gave SELA one of their three losses earlier in the year. The men are probably in a must win situation going against currently fourth place SELA who the men took to overtime early in the year. Women tip off at five PM
