Game time tomorrow is 4 PM. Will the Cards defeat a SWAC team? Historically this should be a win, but Lamar has fallen far enough that most will be betting against LU winning.

This is a lot of empty seats... when only 1/3 of seats are filled, there's no excitement about the program. What can we do?

I say the odds are 50-50 that they still manage to lose.

Game time is listed at 4 PM tomorrow, Oct 8th. Expect a big loss. UIW may well defeat Lamar by more points than any team thus far.

3 PM start. Another game that could be a win even though HCU defeated Northern Colorado in overtime. Bad news is there are more and more probable losses ahead.

Lamar plays at Northwestern State Saturday afternoon at 3:30 PM. Both teams are currently 0-3, I would say it is a must win for Lamar. Overall, it looks like Lamar may have played a slightly tougher schedule and performed closer to their opponents based on the scores, but if Morgan sticks with Chandler at quarterback as long as he did last week and Lamar is unable to run the ball down NSU's throat another loss is highly likely. The game is scheduled to be streamed on ESPN+.

Seems everyone else knows how to hire a good young football coach except LU. IWU hired G.J. Kinne in 2021 and now they're very good.

Kevin Barbay: - Nederland HS alum - former Warren HS HFC - former Lamar assistant - former SFA OC - current Appalachian State OC who just had his offense run the ball down the Aggies throats and nearly beat Mack Brown's UNC (putting over 60 on the scoreboard). While I'm 100% for giving a coach time to implement his system and get his guys, I wonder whether others have a number in their head on what it would take to keep O'Malley from talking to Barbay's agent. I think 5-6 or less (with the best facilities and alumni donors in the Southland) leads to that phone call happening.

As a reminder of what could be I will post weekly updates of how Kerwin Bell is doing as head coach of Western Carolina. He was the no brainer choice for our head coach when we went with Morgan instead. At half Western Carolina leads Charleston Southern 31-17. I wonder how long it will take us to score 31 over the entire season?

Beat UH 3-0 in the Cardinals home opener.

LU plays 0-2 N Colorado at home, then 0-2 NW State, then normally crappy Houston Baptist. Can they go 3-0 and have a winning record this month? (No, I am not smoking crack.)

Saturday September 10th at 6 PM. Cards take on FBS SMU with little to no expectation of getting a win against a FBS opponent. The real question is whether the Cards avoid embarrassment and show any improvement from last week.

Omar Sneed a former standout at West Brook and Memphis will be named as an assistant coach for the Lady Cardinals. On a side note his daughter Kendall, is one of the highest rated players in the State of Texas; class of 2024.

Season kicks off at 7:00 PM this evening. Lamar opens at ACU who defeated the Cards twice last year. 56-0 in Beaumont and 24-17 in Abilene. Game will be on KLVI and ESPN+, looking forward to seeing some football.

Yuto_yamanouchi from Los Angeles, looks pretty athletic on video. He played for Japans U19 National team. I can not find any stats for him but he is eligible for 22/23.

In case everyone forgot we have a game this week ! Lol. Ready to see what we look like. Expectations are low so it wont take much to get me fired up this Thursday. Anyone know anything about Abilene ?

Has transferred to Texas Southern. That opens up a scholarship in which I am wondering if Coach Brooks is going to replace Balls scholarship immediately or hold on to it for 23/24?
