Has anybody seen any highlights of this guy, does he look like he can compete for the top spot next year? I figure its only fair to get him in the discussion since we talk about these other guys.

For those of you who have gone to the spring practices, can anyon tell if the guys, especially the linemen look a little bigger and stronger? Just curious to see how our strength & conditioning program was going.

This was an intense practice and most of it due to new OL/ST coach Dennis McKnight. You could hear the mans voice from anywhere in the stadium. There was a large focus on special teams drills and I fully expect the team to be dramatically improved in that area next season. Coach Woodard was very relaxed and in a great mood during the practice. I feel he's very comfortable with his new staff and lets them all coach. He spent his time mingling around all the areas helping and encouraging, even throwing passes during wide receiver drills with Coach Barbay. The worst kept secret was revealed tonight as Coach Whitten was not at practice. Coach Kueck was working t…

You can, just click on moderate topic. Then for target location just change it to the red zone. It's not overly important though.

Worked nights last night but I'm here. Will provide live updates/short vids and pics on twitter at and takes notes for thoughts later. This is dedication. Stadium jamming ac/dc right now and I've noticed a few recruits visiting on sidelined. Absolute perfect day outside today or I'd be in bed.

Christopher Dabe talked to Woodard and this is what he tweeted: All Lamar spring practices will be open to public. First practices are 4 p.m. Tuesday, 7 Wednesday, 4 Friday and 10 a.m. Saturday. Woodard said Lamar has two offensive tackle spots to fill. One graduated and the other, Anthony Oden, is suspended. Woodard said Oden can seek reinstatement to rejoin team, but the coach said he's not sure it well ever reach that point. Woodard talked candidly about self-evaluation after last season. Made organizational changes to let him better oversee program. Woodard expects frequent QB questions until a QB locks down position. He's intrigued by ex Kentucky b…

Doug Prewitt will no longer play football for Lamar. Medical issues have sidelined him from the game. He will continue to be a part of the team as a manager. Mike reported on it first around 3 hours ago. Lamar just put out this press release: http://www.lamarcardinals.com/sports/m-footbl/spec-rel/032212aaa.html Woodard on Prewitt:

BEAUMONT - After rain washed away the original start date of spring practice, the Lamar football team was able to begin its spring workouts Wednesday evening under the lights of Provost Umphrey Stadium. The Cardinals will have 15 practices during the spring, culminating with the second annual Crawfish Bowl on Apr. 17. After waiting an extra day due to rain, third-year head coach Ray Woodard and his players were ready to get on the field. "We were able to meet again which was good," said Woodard about how Tuesday was spent. "We have a lot of new stuff to put in with the new coaches and it was good to meet again. It added to the excitement and there was a little more …
