Rumors that there's a possibility that another player from a BCS Conference has interest in Lamar and that the feeling is mutual. I'll provide more details if this grows legs.

My friend Evan West who's currently interning in Houston for a local sports station spotted some of the Lamar defensive staff members taking in the Texans practices. I'm sure this is a Wade Phillips/Bill Bradley connection as they worked together in San Diego.

I know there was technically a unofficial depth chart at QB after last years spring practices. But it wasn't concrete and everything started from scratch again in the fall. I'm surprised there hasn't been any reaction yet after the depth chart was announced. I remember last offseason we averaged a few post a day about not having a starting QB set. So Ryan Mossakowski is the starter and Berry is the back up for now. This definitely doesn't say things are over, but it's good to go ahead and put it on paper that you have 1 guy over the other, this will make Berry work harder over the summer. It will also give at least 1 guy confidence instead of leaving a guy wit…

So since spring camp has been over for a while now, our roster is nearly full and we have little else to entertain ourselves I thought it might be time to rally the troops and figure out what we're all expecting from this season. I must say last year we all missed. I thought we would at least be competitive and might possibly be a good team. Well, I was wrong as were most. So this year knowing that we're young, but with new energetic coaches, what are your expectations? This is what I would like to see in 2012 1. Don't lose to sub D1 2. If we lose don't lose by more than 20 (keep it respectable with SHSU and SFA) (we can exclude Hawaii from this) 3. finish…

After seeing the official depth chart today the biggest surprise had to be OL Daniel Campbell not being listed in the 2-deep set........it seemed a little too surprising. So we dug a little and a source told us that Campbell left the LU football program for undisclosed reasons. I attempted to get some verification from the LU football offices but received no comment. Guess we'll know in time but we'll keep digging......

After reading all the comments on here about Lamar moving up, I just thought it would be interesting to see how people really and truly feel about this.

He should help next year with both the passing and running game: BEAUMONT, Texas (5-03-2012) -- Palomar tight end Cory Soto has signed a letter of intent to play football at Lamar University. Soto, a 6-foot-8, 255-pound sophomore from La Costa Canyon High School, is expected to play a key role in turning around the fortunes of the Football Championship Subdivision (I-AA) program. The Cardinals went 4-7 last season. Lamar will play in Honolulu the third week of the season against the University of Hawaii, which along with Michigan State were Football Bowl Subdivision schools that intitially had Soto high on their radar before he was just short of being able to tra…

DISCLAIMER: There's no inside info here and this is not even a remote possibility. It's just what I would consider a great conference for Lamar in a perfect world!!! Gulf Coast Conference or new Southwest Conference (still miss the old SWC) 1. Lamar 2. Texas State 3. UTSA 4. UTA 5. UNT 6. Rice 7. UL-L 8. UL-M 9. Louisiana Tech 10. Tulane Play McNeese and SHSU non conference and call it a day. Geographically this makes perfect since for all schools. I know im dreaming with UNT/Rice/Tulane but they could go from a small to big fish with a realistic chance to compete in this make believe conference. I could easily remove Tulane and Rice making an 8 team c…

During the forum conversion we must have lost the old thread and I was contacted yesterday by Coach Woodard asking if we were still gonna get together to answer your questions. With all the news surrounding the Cardinal football program over this past week we should be able to put together some good questions for coach. Don't miss your opportunity to get any question you have answered. He was pretty candid when we did this right at the beginning of Spring Drills.

I received a Cardinal Club email today about the annual Luncheon. Guest Speakers are: [li]Ray Woodard[/li] [li]Holly Bruder[/li] [li]Trey Clark[/li] The luncheon is this Thursday May 17th at Suga's in Downtown Beaumont. The cost is $20, I got this email because I'm in the Cardinal Club, but you might be able to attend even if you're not, might want to call and ask. Or you could just join the Cardinal Club which is always a good thing to do.

According to this recent article, although Georgia State is moving to the Sun Belt as a FBS team, they plan on honoring their contract with Lamar and will come to Beaumont next year. Hopefully they'll follow through on that. Link: http://blogs.ajc.com/georgia-state-sports/2012/05/03/georgia-state-football-schedule-stuff-unc-florida-charlotte/

http://blog.mysanantonio.com/the-local-scene/2012/04/sun-belt-expected-to-add-texas-state-ut-arlington/ I think that pretty well ends Lamar's chance for FBS in the near future. I was hoping maybe they would pick Lamar over UTA.

the former WOS Mustang and 3 other players including WR Jaz Reynolds were "suspended indefinately" by Bob Stoops. Rumor circulating on twitter was Franks was kicked off the team but I cant find any official verification on that. LINK: http://www.news9.com/story/18248177/two-ou-wide-receivers-suspended

as we sit if he keeps his current grades through the end of the school year (which is only a couple weeks away) he will be qualified to attend and play for the Cardinals.
