Well, boys. This is a big week for both of us. We are both fighting for respectability in the SLC. Should be an interesting game and the renewal of a rivalry between the two charter members of the Southland. I went to a g ame between the Cards and Cats in Beaumont back in 1966 when I was a freshmen at ACU. It rained. Y'all stomped us. It rained some more. I had a blind date with a local girl arranged by college roommate who was from Houston. She hated football and the rain. Couldn't wait to get out of Beaumont and away from her. I'd be the last person to give undue credit but I will give coach credit for yesterday. Late in the second half yhe team was being outscored 14-0 and trailing 21-10 but never quit fighting. Not only were they battling ACU but the officials as well. Then when the season and possibly Ray Woodards tenure as head football coach hanging in the balance they drive right down the field and convert on the 2-point conversion to pull to within 3 points. the new Helmets looked sharp. Would love to change the uniforms as well but those helmets are a good start. I really liked the look

Woodard just announced on his show that we play Baylor in 2015,Houston in 2016 and Wyoming in 2017.

1.) Woodard's time is done. I believed he could save his job by beating SHSU, UCA, SELA, or MSU but after watching that game a.) I don't think we'll beat any of them and b.) it would probably take beating 2 of the 3 to save him. The team quitting in the 4th is in Woodard. Continuing to let Kueck do what he does is on Woodard. Continuing to let the special team disappoint is in Woodard. That's enough to part ways with Woodard and get someone in that can advance this program. 2.) My vision for Lamar University is simple. Make the necessary changes to make this Football team better by attracting new fans and better recruits. The most simple solution is winning. Winning cures everything. Unfortunately we won't win much without the best recruits. Here are some ideas I have for the near future. New uniforms: We need an all white storm trooper look, a red jersey of course and then some sort of alternate jersey with metallic or all black. Get the kids excited.
