With just over two weeks until the exhibition game against St Thomas, has anyone been to a practice or an intra squad scrimmage to see any of this years squad in action? I have seen a little bit of stuff on the WAC message board, but nothing to give any clues as how this squad is coming along. Also I have heard nothing about the ladies.

Bailey Zappe, the former starting QB for Houston Baptist, transferred to Western Kentucky. Yesterday he continued his amazing season throwing for 523 yards and 5 touchdowns in a loss to UTSA and their 'vaunted' defense. For context, LU threw for 31 yards and zero touchdowns vs UTSA. Adam Morse, a former LU bench rider who was never even given a chance by Mike Dultz, continued his great season with Henderson State yesterday. He completed 20-30 for 357 yards, with one pic and 6 touchdowns. He also added a touchdown rushing - 6 carries for 37 yards. 6'5 2024 SG Dink Pate from Prolific Prep took an unofficial visit to the Montagne Center over the weekend.

With all the wounds we received last Saturday, we probably need 2 or 3 consecutive weeks off to lick them to healing before we return to action. I guess with the complicated playbook that we have, Morgan and the offensive coaches have been re-working it to make it a better fit for our personnel. Hope something positive develops over the next week and the rest of the season.

Lamar faces WAC conference mate ACU at home in a non-conference game tomorrow at 6:00 PM. Both teams come into the game with two wins. Each have a win over an NAIA or lower division school and losses to a FBS school. ACU also has a win over UT Pemian-Basin, a D2 school while Lamar has an FCS win last week. Good chance for another LU win but it shouldn't be an easy win. Go Cards

Northern Colorado comes into this game with a 1-1 record. They lost to the University of Colorado and defeated Houston Baptist so far. They are an FCS school out of the Big Sky Conference. Game time is 3:00 PM CT. Looking at their roster they seem to have a large number of freshmen similar to Lamar. Should be a good check on where Lamar's program is really at.
