SLC Indoor Track & Field Championships are being again contested in Birmingham, Alabama. After the 1st day Lamar men are in 10th place out of 13 teams, women are 12th of 13 teams. Considering the number of finals qualifiers, it will be a challenge for either Cardinal squads to finish in the top half of the standings.

Lamar Softball did not score in 2 games versus Oklahoma State, losing 8-0 in the 1st game and 11-0 in the 2nd game at home. Second game was called in the 5th inning due to the 10 run rule.

Due to positive COVID Tests within in the Lamar team, the Rice game scheduled for this evening and the Texas State games scheduled for this weekend have been cancelled.

Every sport , with the exception of cross country and soccer SUCKS. And soccer lost a conference game.

In a district game against Silsbee, Brock recorded 29 pts and 20 rbs in Lumberton's first victory over the Tigers in 21 years and has secured the Raiders a share of the district title. Due to issues from the past weeks weather, Lamar football game scheduled for Saturday vs NWSt has been postponed to 3pm March 27 at Provost Umphrey Stadium. Issues resulting in the postponement were lack of running water on campus, conditions of roads in central Louisiana, boil water notice in Beaumont until at least Monday. March 27 is an open date for both teams.

Due to COVID cancellation, the SLC Cross Country Championships were moved from the 2020 Fall Semester to the 2021 Spring Semester. This years meet will be held on Monday, February 15 at Southeast Louisiana University in Hammond. Lamar Men have dominated this championship in recent years, but will have to run extremely well to repeat. Go Cards! I expect the conditions to be cold and breezy, but they should run anyway. I remember in the mid 70's the NCAA Cross Country Championship was run at Pocatello, Idaho in a foot of snow. Was hard to tell where the rocks and ditches were.

Tonights MMB game is postponed until tomorrow night or Monday night.

Lamar Men's Tennis Team notched it's second team win of the season 7-0 at their home courts Sunday versus Alcorn State. Cards return to action at home on March 6 versus Baylor.
