Opinions on the mens' schedule? Overall good schedule, but still has three home cupcakes. Three D1 non-conference home games plus decent variety of road games, but only one school that is from an upper tier conference. The good part of the road schedule is that there are multiple road games that they should be winnable. If the Cards are going to live up to any of the preseason hype they will need to win several of the road games to build some confidence before conference. Cards have a good mix of home and away early in the conference schedule but finish with three on the road against HBU, SFA and McNeese. What's others opinions of the ladies schedule. The non-conference road schedule looks reasonably solid with two power five conference schools and the remainder are all quality D-1 competition, but the home schedule is lacking any D-1 schools. Maybe it's difficult to get D-1 teams to come to Lamar but why would I want to attend any of these games?

Per article on Lamar website the Cards have four transfers currently enrolled in school sitting out to earn their eligibility for the next two years. Two of the guys are local area players and all were at D-1 schools from conferences that are higher thought of than the SLC. Apparently they are eligible to practice with the team so they should be ready to perform next year. Looks like there are six seniors on this years squad so that would leave two spots possibly for incoming Freshmen. Is it true that Kyle Green is leaving the Lamar Baseball program after just one year? Have heard there is a lot of disgruntlement among the baseball coaching staff. Not a good start if this is true for Will Davis' coaching era here at Lamar. Why would the legendary local high school coach/Lamar pitching coach/Lamar Baseball alumni be leaving so soon?????????
