The Lady Cards notched a 116 - 37 win this evening. The win gets the ladies back above the .500 mark at 5-4 overall for the year. They deserve congratulations for the effort they gave in this game, I just wish they had been able to schedule a little tougher home non-conference schedule. I think Coach Harmony put together an overall reasonable non-conference schedule with several tough and competitive road games. It appears that so far this year free throw shooting maybe the ladies biggest weakness with the ladies shooting under 60% for the year. This may hurt them in a close game against a good opponent.

Through the first twelve minutes it has been a tight game. With 7:52 left in the first half the Cards are up by three at 19 - 16. This is a rematch following the game in Beaumont which Lamar won.

Lamar has jumped out to an early lead on a three pointer by Frenchwood, a three pointer by Weisbrod, two free throws by Nzeakor and a second three pointer by Frenchwood. 17:27 left in the first half and LU up 11-0

Someone had posted a list of players, that were no longer on the team, but had eligibility left. Do the ex-players keep the scholarships, do the scholarships go back into the available pile, or do the scholarships go to the one and done pile?

Missed most of the game do to family outing. End of third quarter and McNeese is ahead 13 - 0. Lamar defense has really played well so far in this game. McNeese scored early in the second quarter following a pass interception nd then got a field goal near the end of the half. McNeese got another field goal on their second possession of the second half. Lamar offense has had very little sustained success. Only five possessions of more than four offensive plays out of 14 possessions so far.

Game has started on an equal level. Through the first four minutes game is tied at 11. CSB has some quality players and has the height advantage on the front line.

Scheduled 7:30 start following the ladies game but may be just a couple of minutes late as they allow a full thirty minutes between games. This should be a game that everyone gets some playing time.

PNG's QB, a Texs commit when he was just a Sophomore at PNG. His stat line: 326 yards passing,272 yards rushing, and 10 touchdowns and they barely won. That was one hell game. A classic.

After getting blown out pretty much by Baylor the ladies have come home and blown out their first two home opponents Louisiana College and tonight Southwest Assembly of God College. Ladies won tonight 92 - 47. The play again Saturday at Purdue which will be a really good test to see if they have improved since the Baylor game.

First home game of the year. Hope there is a good crowd, if the first game means anything Lamar could have a very good season overall and the expectations for home games should be extremely high

Early game with a noon start. Lamar started Weisbrod, Nzeakor, Bosha, Noel and Garth. Lamar got out to an early lead but turnovers and missed shots have Lamar down by one at the 13:01 point in the first half. Lamar hasn't made a substitution year.

Lamar gets the opening kickoff and moves the ball well but then throws an interception off of the receivers hands at the HBU five yard line that was returned all the way for an HBU touchdown. So instead of LU taking the lead they are down by a touchdown to start another game.

Congratulations to the Lady Cardinal Soccer team and coaches. It's great to have a champion, hopefully this is the direction all of the sports will soon be moving. I know that other sports such as Cross Country, Tennis and Golf have been strong for years. It's just great that a relatively new sport has made it to the top. Seems like LU has done a better job of hiring quality women's team coaches than the men's lately. Hope Schultz has a turnaround in his back pocket.

This year's Lamar football team is lacking in depth to the point where they are playing a bunch of guys who aren't ready. My concern is why so many players with remaining eligibility off last year's team are no longer on the team. I know guys leave for a lot of reasons but, by my count, there are 21 players gone who had eligibility remaining. Given the limited number of scholarships at the FCS level, that seems like a lot.
