The Cards are having issues winning. So for they are 7-23 and 3-10 in conference. Not good but they actually have a shot at winning their first series of the season in today's doubleheader with New Orleans at the Beck. Possibly the hire of new AD Marco Born with inspire the Cards to pull out at least one win today! There is no real rain chance today and the wind right now is next to nil which means it will be a nice day for baseball even though it is a bit cool out. Game 1 is already under way with the score 1-1 in the top of the 3rd. Go Cards!!!

Lamar drops two of three over the weekend against UIW. Lamar got a win Friday night but lost both Saturday and Sunday. Sunday's game was run shortened as UIW was ahead 12-2 after seven innings.

How is the weather looking for the weekend? Forecast seems like they may have issues tomorrow and Sunday? You guys seem to have a nice pitching staff. Looking forward to catching the game stream tonight.

Any word on new AD? Need new young, progressive person. Bellard is not the answer. Our athletics with a few exceptions (soccer & XC maybe WBB) are just awful!!!,

The Lady Cards will play TCU Thursday in the opening round of the Women's NIT. Game time has not been set yet. Looks like the ladies got a 12 seed, but not sure as the seeds aren't listed on the bracket.

The Lamar men will play UTSA Wednesday evening at 7 PM in the first round of the CIT. Will be interesting what the comments are from Price about this opportunity. UTSA wound up 5th in CUSA with a 19 and 14 record. A little confusion for me about where the game will be played. ESPN scoreboard indicates the game is in Beaumont, but the Cardinal web site press release says the game will be in San Antonio. For me it doesn't really matter as living out of state I will either listen or watch on the computer.

This years’ basketball season is over unless the Cards get an invite to a lower level post season tourney, so the questions to be asked; Is it time for a new coach? What does next year look like? Tic Price has done a good job of bringing the program out of the trash can but with a senior heavy team was unable to break into the top third of the conference standings. While two nineteen win seasons look good we must remember that three or more of those wins each year have come against lower division schools. Are the players on the bench ready to come in and maintain or raise the bar another notch. I’m not sure. There are four transfer players listed on the roster that…

Lamar was swept this past weekend by SHSU Bearkats. Sam was the preseason pick to win conference by a fairly wide margin, so them taking the opening conference series is really no surprise. Lamar was picked to finish either 7th or 8th.

first game was won by UNO. Lamar is taking on UCA in the second game. At the first media time out Lamar is up by two points at 8-6. Both teams are a little tight.

Baseball winds up dropping their sixth straight game giving up seven runs over the 8th, 9th and 10th innings, Ladies basketball wins at McNeese and gets the outright Conference Regular Season Conference Championship and the men go cold during the final three minutes of the game and drop a game they could have easily won. Lamar men will play in the first round of the conference tourney and depending on the out come of the later games could wind up playing McNeese again although McNeese has to have a loss by at least one of the two teams they are tied with for the last slot of the tourney bracket.

Does anyone know why some of the local media are not covering the Cardinals? Is there some rift between them and the athletic department? The Beaumont Enterprise last two Sunday editions had not a single word about Cardinal athletics despite the fact that there Saturday games both weeks. This past Saturday (February 17) there was baseball game, followed by women's basketball, followed by men's basketball. All of this had ended by 6:30 pm so it can't be a deadline problem. Channel 12's weekend guy didn't even mention that they had played--pretending they didn't play doesn't make up for zero coverage. Being happy and enthusiastic does not make up for it either. Coun…

Great win for the men tonight! I watched the second half and we played a great game. We look totally different when we actually move around and pass the ball, and when we play defense. So sweet to beat SFA at SFA!!

Men travel to Houston for a tough match up with the HBU men's team. When HBU played in Beaumont they had at least one of their better players out for the game, don't know if they are back to full strength or not but based on that game I expect HBU to come out really focused for a potential game they think they can win. The ladies are home for senior night. Ladies won big in Houston earlier in the year so would expect them to complete an undefeated home season as they say goodbye to three seniors.
