First half is in the books and Lamar is down by 7. The Cards were down by 13 early but fought back to tie the game at 37 but then Sam responded with a three pointer and went on to push out to a seven point lead 48 - 41.

Looks like LU will bounce back from the weekend as they are ahead 10 - 3 in the 5th. I doubt that PV can pull out the kind of comeback needed.

Lamar loses by 17 at UIW. Pretty well puts the nail in the coffin for any chance to get to the tourney as McNeese wins against Nicholls giving them 5 wins with two games to play and Lamar has 3 wins with two to play. Lamar has to beat McNeese on Monday and Sam Houston at Sam next Saturday plus get some help from UCA and SELA to get in ahead of McNeese and maybe Northwestern St.

Does anyone have any extra tickets to the game LSU @ Lamar Baseball game on Wednesday? It's sold out. I never expected that to happen.

Lamar hits two grand slams and beats a power five conference program for their fourth straight win to open the season. LU plays LSU on Wednesday.

Tonight will show if Lamar is making progress as this is the second time around against the number 1 team in the conference.

Lamar swept the weekend series with Southeast Missouri State. This is a good beginning as SMS is out of the Missouri Valley Conference so they should be similar competition to the SLC.

Whether Lamar makes the SLC tourney or not this is a critical game for Lamar both this year and next. Lamar hasn't won in Lake Charles since 1997 and haven't won a conference road game since the opening game at Nicholls.

Here is a write up of the Houston Regional Combine held last weekend. Three former Cards showcased their skills in front of NFL scouts. The 3 players were: - Reggie Begelton - Dillion Barrett who transferred to Ole Miss as a grad transfer for his final year of eligibility. - Jeremy Johnson who transferred into Lamar from West Virginia. Only played 1 season at Lamar before transferring to Blinn, then to Houston, then to University of Charleston. Saw this in the new TSUS Feb. Board Book for the upcoming meeting. Looks like LU will spend at least $800K on the new video board thanks to this donation: I did some searching and found that Illinois State just spend $950K on their new video board. The Lady Cardinals defeated Abilene Christian at home getting payback for an earlier loss to them.Abilene was previously undefeated in conference.This shows the potential for this team going down the stretch.This Saturday all scouts and youth basketball players in uniform get into both men's and women's games free according to their press release about the Abilene Christian win.Games begin at 2pm so spread the word to all those scouts and Little Dribblers and their parents and build a fresh base of supporters.
