The LU athletic website has finally updated the online football roster. 4 quarterbacks are listed: Steadman Bell Joe Minden Carson Earp Brett Cox At linebacker, Anthony Beard is still on the roster and Cameron Hampton, the transfer from UT, is also listed. Offensive lineman Chance Allen is no longer listed. We looked pretty decent W/L wise After sweeping Manhatten College in February a 7 game losing streak from March 6 to March 15 that likely would have been 8 had it not been for a rainout against Rice. Is it just the streaky nature of this team or the inability to beat a quality opponent? Need some guys to step up it seems. What makes it look even worse is from Feb 27 to Mar 15 the Cards were 1-10 with a rainout. They did win yesterday which is a good thing and they are up 8-4 so far in the ACU half of the 7th inning.

As I recall, the Beaumont Municipal Tennis Center on College is a nice facility, but the Thompson Family Tennis Center appeared to be very nice with much more than adequate stadium seating when we made a campus run in the fall. Based on Google Maps Earth View, it looks like the seating is a lot better at the on-campus facility. Abilene Christian opened its new Elmer Gray Track & Soccer Stadium on April 9, 2015. The new football stadium will be located on the site of the old Elmer Gray stadium. Word on the street is former Nederland star forward Colton Weisbrod has been given his release from New Orleans and looking to transfer. I heard from someone very close to the situation that had Lamar offered he wasn't going anywhere else...but Pat Knight let him go. Now if he wanted to transfer to Lamar he would have to sit out 2 years vs the normal 1 year due to UNO and LU being in the same conference...however Lamar State College-Port Arthur is a very possible landing spot for 1 year then transfer out and be eligible immediately. Colton averaged 7 points and 3 rebounds a game and shot 52.4% from the field this season as a true freshman

Lamar and the Demons battle it out for first place in the SLC starting with a double header today a 3:00 and the second game at 5:00. They wrap up the series tomorrow at 2:00. Come on out and support your Lady Cards this weekend! Coach Bruder and this team deserve for fans to come out in droves. They are an absolute blast to watch play.

If you haven't gotten you season ticket renewal yet you should get it soon. They are drawing for prizes starting on April 6th and every day after for 15 days but you won't be entered to win until you send in your renewal.

What a blow. Golf was by far the most successful sport in recent years at Lu. Anyone know what happened? i know our team was supposed to be co-hosts with Houston for this weeks Valspar Tourney in Florida. Then I noticed we weren't even in the field.
