Every game is important but as the season progresses beating SELA Monday night may be the difference in a plus .500 season. Of the 12 conference home and home games four are with the current conference leaders (SFA and SAM) two are with the current third place team ACU and the other six are with teams with a worse conference record than Lamar including McNeese who Lamar hasn't beaten in Lake Charles in more than ten years.

Saturday's mens game just got bigger, at least in how the rest of the season may go. ACU defeated NWST tonight by fourteen at NWST, LU only plays NWST this one time and have a pair of games against ACU.

Ladies set school record for 3 pointers and tie conference record. Ladies also have the most three pointers in the nation for women's play. Great job.

Men's games: Lamar at Northwestern State: 3:00 pm The Cardinals will be coming into the game at 9-7 overall and 3-1 in the league play. The Cardinals look to extend their 3 game winning streak, as they take on the Huston-Tillotson Rams tonight in the comfy confines of the Montagne Center. The Cards have 4 game winning streak in the Bird's Nest this season. The Cards also have a chance to move back to .500 on the season going into conference play, which begins play this Saturday against Nicholls State. I'm calling this one a must win. Rice is coming to the Montange with a 3-6 record. Lamar is coming off back to back wins over NAIA opponents and still have a lot to prove. Tic Price and this program desperately needs this win at home in order to keep the fans interested and the player moral up. The confidence of this team is very fragile but with a win like this it can boost team moral and get them prepared for SLC play. Cm'on Cards! Get it done! Lose to a 3-6 team and you can kiss any new confidence this team has found good bye.

Ok, a buddy of mine who went to LU and now lives in Austin asked me "how is our recruiting going, when will we bee good enough to get into the playoffs?" This is a loaded question but it made me stop and think. What do we need to take that next step? I can't put my finger on it. I don't recall watching any game, other than tamu, and thinking "damn, we are outmanned". So, what is it? What do we need? I am very concerned about qb. Replacing Berry shouldn't be easy?
