Can't wait to get a look at these 3 QB's. Anyone have any insight on their strengths and weaknesses? One of them stepping up and surprising would be very encouraging.

I saw on SETX Sports that former LU Defensive Lineman Matt Burnett has retired from his position as Athletic Director for Port Neches-Groves. Many of them are convinced that he has taken a position somewhere with Lamar. Hopefully Mike can use his PN-G sources to find something out. Burnett is the winningest coach in PN-G history going 95-66 in 15 seasons as Head Coach and winning 4A Coach of the Year in 1999 as PN-G fell to Art Briles (now Baylor HC) led Stephenville in the State Championship game. That same year he was inducted into the Cardinal Hall of Honor.

Per AD Jason Henderson, season tickets sales are up to 8,362 as of last week. Hello all. My name is Danny Shapiro and I'm the new Beaumont Enterprise beat writer for Lamar football. I'm 22, a recent graduate from Arizona State University and moved to Beaumont in July. Recently, but then again, historically the NFL and sports teams in general suffer the dreaded torn ACL way too much in general and in particular during preseason conditioning. I happened on this article in Bleacher Report that says a scientific study has been done and it is believed that as much as 70% of ACL tears can be prevented!
