The baseball team is playing three games against the UTPA Broncs this weekend. The Cardinals lost the first game last night 2-5 after the Broncs had a five run rally in the eighth inning. They play again at 2:00 pm today and again at noon tomorrow. After hearing that the University Press, the on campus news paper, was having a hard time finding a writer for Lamar sports a friend of mine who works for the paper approached me and asked if I would be willing to write a sports column seeing as I attended all of the sporting events anyways. I went and talked to the UP staff and decided to fill out an application. They told me that I would be receiving a call tomorrow informing me what my first assignment is going to be! Finally, Lamar sports will be covered properly in the UP! I promise that my spelling, punctuation, grammar and literacy will be at a much higher level than when I am on this board. LOL
