The baseball team barely makes the SLC tourney by winning 2 of 3 from ORU.

Probably a cart ahead of the horse type thing... ...I know we have to fill up what we have, but I've wondered what it would cost to add seating to PUS in case we ever got the call to move up. I can always dream. :) I've seen statements like $40 Million, $20 Million, etc. Boise State made a 9,000 seat addition for $3.1 Million last year. (It was actually a replacement and expansion. They took existing endzone seats and put them in the Track & Field facility and installed new seating with more capacity.) HBU website is out of business. Fan interest on the site was non- existant. ACC & IWU have a strong base of dedicated fans, but HBU & UNO need help.

I was looking at the Lamar team page on Phil Steele's site this evening and noticed the picture is still pre-renovation. Apparently, there are some updates to some since UCA's page is showing the purple and grey turf installed in 2011. James Brown had another opportunity come up that he didn't want to pass up and has elected to resign from Lamar and it will likely be announced within the next week or so. This isn't a huge surprise as he wasn't involved at any of the Spring practices. There are a couple names I've heard being floated around as his replacement but I wont say anything until there's something more concrete.

According to the splash page on lamarcardinals.com, season football tickets go on sale starting May 12 (next Monday). 7 home games this season. Conference home games include Sam Houston State and Southeastern Louisiana as well as newer members Houston Baptist and Incarnate Word. The head coach at Incarnate Word, Larry Kennan, should be familiar to a lot of Cardinal fans. He was head a head coach at Lamar from 1979-1981 before leaving for an assistant coaching job with the Los Angeles Raiders. Ladies were swept by McNeese this weekend. LU needed to take at least one of the games and then have some help in other games in order to make the conference tournament. Step one didn't happen, so it is "Wait until next year". Unless there is a dramatic comeback in the bottom of the 9th, the men will drop two to HBU.
