Men continue the start of the SLC in New Orleans Thursday evening while the women are at home. Men have lost six straight to UNO with the last win coming at home in 2015. UNO is currently 4-8 on the season and like Northwestern St do not have a D-1 win coming into the game. UNO comes in with conference losses at home to ACU by 6 and on the road to Sam by 8. Even though this is a road game early in SLC play, is this a must win game for LU?

No one else did so I will! Merry Christmas to all the Cardinal faithful! Even if we disagree about decisions made or direction of programs, I do think we all want nothing but success for good Ole LU!

Wednesday evening is the opening day for the SLC race. Lamar men are at home versus Southeastern La in a 7:00 PM game. Lamar comes into the game ranked at 215 following the loss to TCU. Cards are favored to win, but there is only one common opponent to date. SELA defeated Southern of N.O. by five points a week before LU defeated Southern by seventeen. Looked like Kopp was suited up at TCU but did not play. This years conference schedule gives the Cards a good chance to start out with some early conference wins. Must not let this first one slip away.

"I would say there are four coaches on our staff that are in the process of being interviewed. They have not been offered jobs, but they are one of three that are negotiating about a job with some other head coaches. These are all for assistant coaching positions. It might be a raise in pay, might be more authority. And I don't know this yet, but I'm sure Blane is going to take some of our younger coaches with him. Couple GAs or something like that." https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/ncaafb/aztecs-football-looking-at-possibility-of-more-coaching-departures/ar-BBY5UBj Both these GA's have ties to Texas. https://goaztecs.com/sports/football/roster/coaches/austen-jac…

Due to APR scores falling below the 930 4 year average, McNeese football will be banned from postseason play in 2020. Their scores were 942, 948, 892 and 892. Both of the 892 scores came in the last 2 academic years...meaning without score of 988 next year, they could be facing another ban in 2021. https://mcneesesports.com/news/2019/12/17/apr-critical-to-football-postseason-in-2020.aspx

Cards travel to Ft Worth tomorrow for a 2:00 PM game. Hopefully everyone is available. Massey has Lamar as a fifteen point underdog with a 10% chance of winning. Massey has TCU ranked lower than Duquesne currently and LU had a chance to win that game up until the last couple of minutes. Here's hoping for a closer game and maybe a statement win.

Men play Southern University at New Orleans tonight at 7pm. SUNO is a NAIA school and announced yesterday they will shutdown all athletics after this school year due to financial issues. So if you always wanted to see a SUNO game, tonight might be your last chance.

Almost game time; with a 2:00 PM start we will get to see if this team has any carryover support in the stands from last year. Also we will see them against a higher quality opponent at home than we have so far. Good Luck Cards.

Game time. Cards are at Alabama Birmingham tonight. UAB has a mixture of experience but do have five freshmen on their roster. Looks like overall they may be a little taller than Lamar.
