SLC gets three teams in. UCA as #8 seed, Nicholls and Southeastern La. All three get home games. SLC needs to win at least two of their three first round games. UCA gets a bye the first week and will meet the winner of Southeast Mo. St. and Illinois St. Nicholls opens with North Dakota and if they win they get #1 seed North Dakota St. Southeastern La. plays Viilanova.

Ladies are at Baylor and it is very similar to the game at NC State. Undersized and unfortunately just less talent than these Top 25 programs. First quarter ends with Lamar down by seventeen. Baylor 24 - Lamar 7.

Men travel to Utah Valley this coming Thursday at 8:00 PM Beaumont time. We can get a preview of what may be coming as Utah Valley plays Kentucky tonight on ESPN2. Utah Valley is a fairly experienced team with three seniors and five juniors. They have good size with a 7'0" senior center, a 6'11" sophomore and only two players under 6'3". Utah Valley is currently 3-1 going into their game at Kentucky.

Lamar Men’s Cross Country team finished 4th out of 22 teams in today’s NCAA Regional meet in Fayetteville Arkansas. Lamar finished behind UT- Austin, University of Arkansas, and Texas A&M and bested Rice, LSU, Baylor. Houston among others. Jordon Rowe finished 8th overall. Way to go Cards!

Men are at home tonight with a 7:00 PM tip off. Mt St Mary's is out of the Northeast Conference, similar in stature to the SLC. MSM is picked 7th out of 11 teams in their conference. Overall they have good size with only three players under 6'2". They are a fairly young team with no seniors. Could be a good game for the Cards.

Soccer season ended on what I am sure is a somewhat sour note as the Cards fall 4-1 at UCLA. Cards got a late score by Ashworth in the 89th minute to break the shut out bid from UCLA. Congratulations ladies on a great year.
