  1. Started by geezer,

The Lady Cards continued their non-conference schedule at K State this evening. K State won the game by a final of 73-55 as the size of the Wildcats got to Lamar in the 2nd and especially the third quarters. Lamar played K St evenly in the first quarter and had a one point lead at the end of the quarter. K State got on a roll in the second quarter and ended the half with a 33-29 lead. In the third quarter K-State picked up where they left off and out-scored the Cards 23-9. Lamar came back to play the fourth quarter to an even quarter but weren't able to close the gap.

  2. Started by geezer,

7:00 PM tip off. Houston is off to a 6-0 start for the season with wins over common opponents Rice and UTRGV. Their last win was against nationally ranked Oregon.

  3. Started by puddin tane,

    damn...

  4. Started by Skinny1,

Lamar playing at Rice, 4:30 game.

  5. Started by Dracula,

Schultz turned the football team around and made it into the FCS playoffs. It looks like Harmony has the WBB team moving in the right direction, which leaves Price in the hot seat. The interesting bio is that of David Dumars, MBB coach. Is he a better football coach or basketball coach? I would imagine that it is a short walk from one office to the other, if the opening presented itself.

  6. Started by WildCard,

LU women just beat Texas A & M in College Station. They should play more morning games. 74-68. Barrs had 23 (and 4 steals), Crump has 20, and Mo Kinard 15 despite a bad shooting day.

  7. Started by geezer,

Lamar men are down in the Rio Grande Valley playing what used to be Pan American. Cards are shooting very good and have popped out to a 26 - 4 lead with 11:35 left in the first half. A couple of games for comparison. UTRGV has defeated A&M-CC and Prairie View.

  8. Started by Dracula,

I don't have any inside information or inside contacts. I don't know anything about Marco Born except that he is very tall. What's your opinion of how he is doing?

    7PM game on ESPM 3.

  10. Game to kick off at 4:00 on ESPN3 If anyone is interested, Buffalo Wild Wings on Dowlen in Beaumont will be hosting a watch party.

  11. Started by geezer,

Denver is out of the Summit League (D1) conference including former SLC member Oral Roberts. After the first period the Lady Cards are trailing by five at LU 20 - Den 25. It's on the road and from conference strengths the two are probably fairly comparable as both are likely one bid only conferences for the NCAA Tourney.

  13. Started by geezer,

I hope that AD Born can have some influence on scheduling. This game/exhibition is embarrassing. After the first quarter the ladies are up 38 - 2. I guess in some ways it's no different than the second half of the Miss St game that Lamar was on the receiving end of but I don't see where this helps much of anything.

  14. Started by geezer,

Earlier today the video links didn't show up but when I checked right before game time the link showed up. This game against a lower division school is playing out about how you would expect. Lamar up big early in the first half and playing a lot of players.

  15. Started by KABrother88,

Game starts at 3:00 on ESPN3

  16. Started by geezer,

See where Lamar won by seven but wasn't able to watch any of the game as I was at my high school coaches funeral. Great coach and solid christian. Will look up stats and stuff after the football game is over.

  17. Started by Dracula,

On ESPN3, Samford vs East Tennessee State. Samford's QB is Devlin Hodges and all they do is pass. They're really good at it.

  18. Started by LU17,

Well, I guess if we whip Mcneese 50-0 maybe we can get in the FCS playoffs. Otherwise, we will put in our service and next year, when we do some damage, maybe we will be taken seriously. We have to pay our dues. Next year, if we win the SLC, or continue to win maybe the playoffs will happen. This coaching staff has made me confident! I don’t care for Schultz, but he has turned the corner so I am on board. We are winning and we are good. A win against McNeese, who has a solid program, is a feather in our cap. I am going tomorrow, I hope to see you there. I am sure our LU voice will help, so please come to the game! GO LU

  22. The updated Southland Conference football standings. https://southland.org/ Nicholls 6-2 7-3 Incarnate Word 6-2 6-4 Abilene Christian 5-3 6-4 Lamar 5-3 6-4 During the current 5 game win streak, Lamar has outscored the other teams 154-111. Who would've thunk it.

  23. Started by geezer,

6:30PM CT game time. Should be a much better chance to see just where this team may be developmentally.

  24. https://lamarcardinals.com/news/2018/11/9/cross-country-crowe-wins-ncaa-regional-race.aspx Congratulations to Jamie Crowe and the entire LU Cross Country Program

  25. Just a few weeks ago, Lamar vs McNeese was just a season ending game with only radio coverage. Now, on the Southland Conference website, Shifting to Saturday, the Southland Conference Game of the Week on ESPN3 features Lamar at McNeese. The Cowboys are currently part of a three-way tie for first place, while the Cardinals are just one game back. In this game, Lamar can stick it to McNeese, in so many ways, on National TV, and with all those FCS committee members watching. By winning this game, Lamar can exorcise so many demons, that even the Vatican will be impressed. Go Big Red.
