Langley's total Saturday night came out to 206 yards in punt returns. Went to the SLC website to see where he stood for the year and they don't have individual PR leaders listed. However, they do have team stats. Per the Lamar stats, Langley has 241 yards retuning with 206 coming Saturday night. The 2 next highest team totals are SFA at 218 and UCA at 212. No one else has surpassed 200 yards...so Langley'a single game total was more than 8 of the other team team season totals. 206 is also more than 3 teams (HBU, Nicholls & UIW) have combined.

Per FootballScoop ACU HC Ken Collums will not return next year after going 24-31 in 5 seasons and 2-9 this season (their bye week is the final week next Saturday).

I saw some pictures on Twitter of the new scoreboard getting assembled. I gotta say it's going to be nice. I hope the team is good so the excitement of the new scoreboard isn't wasted.

Just went to the SLC website and looked a few stats...as you would assume there are some pretty bad numbers in several categories. That said, there were a couple that surprised me. Lamar is the least penalized team (yardage wise) in the league and 2nd in total penalties. I remember last year us being one of the more penalized teams in the SLC. Probably the biggest surprising stat though is we actually lead the conference in Redzone Defense...yes that's right. In 42 trips the Lamar D has allowed only 30 scores (25 TDs and 5 FG) for a 71.4% clip. 2nd is Nicholls UCA at 75%. Opposing teams are only 5-11 in redzone FG attempts. There is no point having a 3,4, or 5 receiver set when we suck at passing. If Woodard is dead set on running the ball, then my suggestion would be to run a split backfield and 2 WR formation. Take one of the little used TE's and convert him to a RB. Most of these guys are 225 to 250 lbs. Let him be the masher and the blocker for Krautz or King.
